    OUR BELIEFS

Our beliefs lie at the very core  of who we are as a church. It is what gives us our identity and distinction amidst our spiritually pluralistic society which increasingly views the eternal  truths of God’s Word as relative.

The first distinction our beliefs  provide us is a clear identification with the doctrines of New Testament  churches which are unmistakably synonymous with traditional, Baptist doctrines.  It is these doctrines that make us baptistic and not our loyalties to a  denomination, convention, or any other hierarchal structure. Therefore, our  beliefs not only make us Baptist, but independent of any other authority (after  organizing apart from our sending church) outside of God’s Word, the Bible.

As Independent Baptists, we hold  to traditional, scripturally sound beliefs. Of those beliefs, below are ten that  clearly earmark our doctrinal position as a church:

    I. We believe the whole Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is the verbally inspired Word of God (II Timothy 3:16) and has been preserved by the promise of God (I Peter 1:23-25).

II. We believe God’s Word has been preserved for the English speaking people through the King James Version which is the only English Bible translated solely from the Masoretic and Received Texts (Textus Receptus).

III. We believe Jesus Christ was born of Mary the virgin, and is the very Son of God. (Matthew 1:23)

IV. We believe that Christ died for our sins (I Corinthians 15:3), and that He arose from the grave the third day. (I Corinthians 15:4)

    V. We believe that He alone is the mediator and intercessor between God and man. (I Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 7:25)

VI. We believe that in order to be “saved” the soul must be born again, (John 3:3) through repentance (Luke 13:3) and faith  in Christ as Savior.

VII. We believe that every born again person should declare his/her faith through baptism by immersion in water. (Romans 6:4-5)

VIII. We believe that Christ keeps those who are born again eternally secure. (II Timothy 1:12; John 10:28)

IX. We believe that Christians are called to separation from worldly, sinful practices, unto holiness and a life of usefulness for Christ. (II Corinthians 6:17)

    X. We believe a church is a local, visible  body of baptized believers whose mission is to preach and teach the Word of God,  making disciples to do the same. (Matthew 28:18-20, II Timothy 2:2)

In our drifting society, where families are torn apart and violence is rampant, people need a solid, steady foundation to build their lives upon. We believe these time-tested truths (and all the other truths of God’s Word), preached with relevance and compassion, offer that foundation of peace and steadfastness people are seeking.
